Payment Link
Introduction
Payment link is a functionality that allows you to create an URL with a simple checkout. Customers that enter this link are able to either make a single payment or initialize a subscription without visiting the merchant's webpage.
Access
Payment link is available for all merchants:
Log into your merchant’s account at dev.shift4.com/login
Navigate to the Payment Links on the left side panel
Creation
Navigate to the Payment Links on the left side panel
Click Add Link in top right corner
In the new modal you will see an option to create a checkout for a single payment or subscription. It is possible to append section with billing and shipping information
Single payment requires specifying amount, currency and payment link name. On the right side of the modal you will see a preview of the checkout
Subscription requires adding a planID from a drop down list
Click Add Link
Usage
Payment links can serve multiple times. They can be deactivated manually if no longer needed. In case of an edition they are not retroactive. Both options (edition and deactivation) are available through a context menu on the right side of a specific link, on the Payment Links view.
It is possible to obtain more information on payment links through clicking on it in the main view. The view offers access to checkout’s settings and possibility of edition thereof.
Charges made with the payment link are presented at the bottom of the page
Checkout customization
It is possible to customize checkout sent through Payment Link with individual header capture, header headline and header image. Available formats for the image are: jpg, png, gif and svg. Each merchant can include a link to their own terms and conditions, as well as to define an URL to which the customer is taken after a successful payment
Access
Log into your merchant account at dev.shift4.com/login
Unfold drop down list in the upper right corner and go to Account settings
Go to Checkout & links tab
