# Payment Links

Payment links allow you to create a URL with a simple checkout. Customers who open the link can either make a single payment or start a subscription, without visiting your website.

A payment link can be reused until it expires or reaches its configured limit of successful charges. Every payment attempt made through a payment link opens a checkout session, which records the values the customer entered into any custom fields.

Every new payment link is active by default. Payment links with a limited number of charges are deactivated automatically the moment the limit is reached.
